How to add Asset blocks to the Page Editor

Sharing lengthy information on your website can be difficult, instead upload and add documents to your page using the Asset blocks tool. This feature supports many different formats, each with their own display icon, allowing users to easily download files and assets.

1. Uploading assets to the CMS Website Document Assets folder To upload your documents, enter the CMS Website Document Assets folder. From here you can upload PDF files in the PDF folder or open the Documents folder to add DOC (Word document), XLS (Excel) and PPT (PowerPoint) files. Choose a document icon next to the New Item title at the top of the page, e.g. Word icon for Word file. Then highlight the item and click on Item Properties beneath Options on the left-hand side. This will open the Properties (with upload) pop-up, click the Choose File button to open your folders, select the file you want to upload and press the Click to Upload File button. Remember to tick the Include checkbox next to the item once you’ve finished. 2. Adding Asset blocks from Page Blocks When inside the Page Editor, click Add under Page Blocks and then from the Visual Blocks tab, select the Asset Block title. 3. Adding the asset and configuring options for Asset blocks To add an asset to the Asset block in the Page Editor, double click on the icon (with the blue arrow inside a folder) within the left-hand side of the block to open the Hot Directory, then navigate through the Assets folder to find your document and select it. Highlighting the Asset block and right-clicking on the item will open the Options pop-up; from here you can select the asset type and add mouseover text. To edit the title of the document, click on the text field in the Asset block and the typing cursor will appear. Extra Tip Inside the Options pop-up you can also move the item up, down or delete it from the page. 4. Adding Get Adobe block from Page Blocks The Adobe Reader button automatically links to the Adobe website (http://get.adobe.com/reader/) where the user can download the reader and view your PDF files. To add this item to your page, open Page Blocks and select Get Adobe Reader from under the Visual Blocks tab.
